1998-99 District 5510 Governor Art Harrington.  Art Harrington is a retired pastor with the Christian Churches who continues to serve as a leadership development consultant to churches, non-profit organizations, schools and businesses. His four earned degrees include a doctorate in Administration, with a specialty in leadership development. He is the author of What the Bible Says About Leadership, College Press, 1985, which sold out two editions, and is currently out of print. Art’s leadership training materials particularly emphasize the principles of working successfully with volunteers — reflecting a lifetime of education and experience focusing on this servant-style leadership.
 
Art and his wife Sharon own Harrington Financial Services PC, a tax, accounting and financial services firm now located in Prescott. Sharon has an extensive background in taxes and accounting, with a Masters degree in Accounting and Business Law. Art is an Enrolled Agent with the U.S. Treasury Department. He is also licensed as a Registered Representative with Securities America and as a Financial Advisor with Cooper McManus.
 
Art has been a Rotarian since 1963, and Sharon since 1988, with both functioning in many different leadership capacities. Art has served as a District Governor, GSE Team Leader to India, International Training Leader and Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator. He currently is the District Rotary Youth Services Chair, and he continues to be an instructor for the Arizona Rotary Leadership Academy and the Rotary Leadership Institute. He is a Rotarian Advisor to several Interact clubs, and to the Interact District Council. Art has received the Rotary Foundation’s Citation for Meritorious Service and Rotary International’s highest honor, the Service Above Self Award. Art and Sharon are members of the Prescott Sunup Rotary Club.
