AND NOW….FROM THE INTERNATIONAL FRONT
By PDG Abe Feder - RC of Mesa West

In Rotary each of us has the opportunity to find our passion, whether its youth, working to improve our community, increasing education, feeding the hungry, working with our seniors or international service.

I am pleased to announce that the District Governor Team of 5510, 5490 soon 5495 asked me to serve as International Service Chair through 2017.  It’s an area that I am passionate about because international service truly made me a Rotarian.  It was a trip down to Mexico to give polio drops to children that really made me understand what Rotary is and what it does.

So what does the International Service Chair do? Nothing! Everything! Let’s look at what has been put together to date:

International Service will have the following elements-Microcredit, The Mexican-American Friendship and Global Grants Exchange, and The Water Summit. There will be other areas that may come to the forefront and they will be added to our service list. In addition we will be creating a website that will list all international projects, their scope and financial needs, what their position and progress is and if they need partners. In effect a menu of projects that your club can join in on and they will be coming from our districts. In addition we will develop a cadre team that will be equipped with videos, and power point presentations to explain what we are doing at your club meeting. We all need speaker’s right!

The goal is that each month I will report and update various International Service Projects and ask for assistance if it is needed-for now let me start with this:

Terry has an article in the newsletter.

There’s lots going on in 5490 and 5510 (soon to be 5495) but that’s it for now.
