Remembering PDG Bill Snedecor
By Kevin Cloe - PP RC of Wickenburg

Bill had already been a District Governor while he was involved in the Lake Havasu Rotary Club, therefore when he moved to Wickenburg and joined the Rotary Club of Wickenburg, we expected he would be a great resource of information regarding district and international projects and processes.
He was just that ... and much more
Not only did he offer his valuable advice on district and international matters, he jumped into the local club activities with both feet. It was as if he just joined the club and wanted to work his way through the various chairs and offices.  He took pride in keeping track of the club's finances ... serving as treasurer for several years.  Then when one president had to leave the club, he stepped in and took the reigns during some difficult times -- while still handling the treasurer duties.  Many times, he represented the Wickenburg club at various Rotary conferences and training sessions when none of the other club members were able to attend.

As if that didn't keep him busy enough, Bill also stayed involved in the Wickenburg community --- operating his new Tegner Square medical center and presiding over the Wickenburg Regional Economic Development Partnership that focused on creating an industrial railpark near Wickenburg which would ultimately provide hundreds of new jobs in the community.

Bill was an integral part of the recent Merger of Rotary District 5490 and Rotary District 5510 where he chaired the Merger Finance Task Group.  His Task Group developed the finances for the new Rotary District 5495.  Bill's attention to detail and knowledge of district accounting and finances help him lead the Merger Finance Task Group  to some amazing accomplishments.  The Merger Finance Task Group handed over a realistic budget for the new District 5495 to the DG Line which was then adjusted accordingly.  The Merger Committee and the new Rotary District thank Bill hard work and leadership of the Merger Finance Task Group.

Even through health challenges, Bill made sure he was available for nearly every local club fundraiser or community project.
One new member mentioned, after Bill's passing, that he was so impressed how Bill greeted each member with a smile and compliment at weekly meetings and events.

A memorial Service was held at Los Caballeros in Wickenburg where there was plenty to eat and drink as family members, Rotarians, business associates and friends gathered to reminisce on Bill's life and how he impacted those around him.  It was a very touching and emotional memorial of Bill Snedecor's life.  Watch Bill's Celebration of Life shown at his memorial online here.
