The CO2 Dragster STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) High School program started in Rotary year 2018-2019. This is a STEM program for CUSD (Chandler Unified School District) high school students and replaces the F1 Race Car program that was sponsored by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and supported by the Sun Lakes Rotary Club. The CO2 Dragster Program was developed by Joe Greene, Ass't Principal at Perry High School and Bill Klein, Technical Engineer. High school student teams will use 3D CAD (Computer Assisted Design) to design their Dragsters and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) to build their dragster. Teams will compete each December in a Competition Event at Perry High School and sponsored by the Sun Lakes Rotary Club. The program was developed for CUSD High Schools. The goal of the committee is to grow this STEM program to all CUSD high schools and to other Arizona high schools.
