Membership Update
By Tony Inglese - Membership Chair District 5490

Here it is, the beginning of the end of District 5490!  Wow! What an opportunity we have! Yes, it may seem very challenging but yet it is VERY achievable.

Before we go over some of the membership goals, I would like to say that we have a very talented and informed Membership Team to support whatever need you may have in order to help each club achieve their membership goals.

Here is a list of just a few goals that we have as a District.  I will lay out additional goals in future newsletters.  Please remember that we CAN achieve these goals by working together as a team.
  1. Help each club increase their retention of existing Rotarians by 2.  If we can keep just 2 Rotarians from leaving each club that will increase our membership growth.  That would be 74 members to help you achieve more support and resources with your projects.
  2. Strive to help each club have a net gain of 1 new member.  That would increase our membership by 45!
I know you are doing the math and saying to yourself, “If we have 37 clubs and we get a net gain of 1 new member, you’re off by 8 right?”  That leads me to our 3rd goal.
  1. Help clubs create 8 NEW clubs – We can identify through demographics 17 areas that have everything we need to start a new club.  We are NOT limited to these areas and I will lay these areas out in my next letter. These clubs can be Young Professionals, Emerging Leaders, and maybe even a Baby Boomer Club in an active adult community or a Satellite Club or a combination of all of the above.
If we all can achieve these goals, it WILL add a total net growth of 311 Rotarians!
You will be hearing about different programs and resources that The Zone and The District have in place to support your membership growth.

For any questions, thoughts or if you require help of any kind please contact your AG, Membership Coordinator or myself.

Yours in Rotary Service,
