Hello my Rotarian family:

The holidays are upon us and in full swing. It is that time of year when “family” is so important to who we are and what we do. This includes our immediate family and our Rotary family - near and far.

Most people will take time to reflect upon what they may be able to do during the holiday season to help others. That includes Rotarians, however, most Rotarians I know think of helping each other and people they don’t yet know, every day of their lives.

I am in awe of my world-wide Rotarian family as you are the most giving people in the world. You give of yourselves and your resources all year long – year after year after year.  You travel far and wide with smiles on your faces, with hearts full of love and joy to help make a small difference here and there. Those small efforts add up to help change the world – one person, one family, one village or community at a time.

While Rotarians can look back now and see wonderful progress and positive changes made by their efforts. Someday, future Rotarians will look back and realize that Rotary’s positive world-wide presence and efforts have changed the whole world for the better.

I am grateful to be a small part of this loving, giving family. I am grateful that in 2003, a friend and Rotarian asked me to come join his Rotary Club. I am forever grateful for another Rotarian in our club who took me beyond the club to show me what Rotary really is in the world. While I can never repay them, I can honor their trust and faith in me by helping the next generation to achieve even more in their service to humanity.

From my family to yours, I wish all of
you the happiness the season will bring
as you and your families, large and
small, gather to celebrate the holidays
each in your own way.
