Are able to Teach GED Math Programs
By PDG Jim Green - RC of Sun City

The Phoenix Rescue Mission plays a very important role in the greater Phoenix area.  One of its most important missions is to make its clients self-sustaining.  The GED math program (and other subjects as well) is an excellent example of how we can serve our community.  This request for help is specific to the GED Math program at the Mission.

NOTE:  CPA Kristen Stevenson is one of the very important advisors to our Challenger Middle School Interact Club -- one of our Sun City Interact clubs that has received the Presidential Citation since its inaugural year.  If you know about people who have a recent background or certificate in math and want to have a great deal of fun volunteering at the mission, please ask these folks to contact Kristen directly.

A note from CPA Kristen Stevenson:

I wanted to let you know about the GED math program at Phoenix Rescue Mission. I teach the class twice a week from 12-2PM and a PHD student from ASU supports the class tutoring on Fridays.

I wanted to ask you if any of your Rotarians has an interest in offering a hand up to help the men/women at the Mission with math either M/W afternoon second semester? Sometimes teaching is a perfect fit for some of us who love it!

I welcome your ideas of how to match this need with the right volunteer.

Many thanks for considering this proposal.  I send warmest greetings to all of you for a happy and healthy 2017!
