Dear Rotarians:

Welcome to our 8th Fireside Chat, seems like this year have been going by so fast.

We have accomplished much since July 1, 2016 and January was no different.

The merger of Districts 5490 and 5510 moving along like clockwork as we move closer to July 1, 2017.  The AGs and PEs are off to a good start as we approach PETS 2017.

Asking you to Dream Big and Imagine, Engage & Serve to do good in the world continues to serve us well as we approach June 30 when we turn the reigns over to Nancy and 5495. Keep dreaming of what can be — then make it so.

Tony Inglese's Membership update shows we are accomplishing the Big Dream, thank you!  I had the pleasure of attending the Rotary Club of Thunderbird Commencement Celebration.  What a joy to be part of that historical event surrounded by my family of Rotarians.

Thanks to Barb Feder and her staff of Rotarians for putting on a wonderful 100th Birthday Party Celebration.  A good time has had by all in attendance check out the story and pictures here.

The new Club Leadership Academy has come to full life and will be debuted on April 22, 2017.  Thank you to DGN David Simmer and his CLA staff for doing a magnificent job on assembling such a great program that is being viewed by the Rotary World as Great New Program.  I've been told it is going to fill up fast so do not procrastinate registering, you can register here.

Under the direction of Mary K Clark, we have a wonderful District Conference shaping up for next May 18-21 and it will be a proper send off for D5490 and proper welcome to D5495. It is being held in Laughlin, NV and our Rotary Club there are fantastic hosts. We will celebrate Rotary and the Rotary Foundation. We will celebrate D5490 and welcome D5495. You can register here now thanks to the hard work Mary K and her staff have been doing.

We still have lots more to do this Rotary year and I am confident that we have the wonderful, dedicated Rotarians in our district who will make it all work. Thanks again for all you do and will do.

On a more personal side, through the "magic" of computers I've been able to add Baxter to my side at one of my most favorite locations in front of a campfire.  I'm looking forward to many years of fun with my "new love" Baxter.
