The Interact District Council's Corporate Partner, American Furniture Warehouse, has temporarily stopped accepting wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and other mobility-assistance devices at both of its warehouses in Gilbert and Glendale, due to increased need for the storage space for its business.

The Arizona Interact Crutches 4 Africa has more than a full load for a 40-foot container to ship overseas, and no scheduled date to load and ship the container.

When American Furniture Warehouse resumes accepting mobility devices, district Interact and Rotary Clubs will be notified. American Furniture Warehouse and the company's representative Lauren Lukas have been strong supporters of the Interact Crutches 4 Africa program and a partner with the district in other activities.

In the meantime, there is a critical need for temporary storage around our Rotary District. Each Interact and Rotary Club will have to make their own arrangements for storage, but if there is a location where larger numbers of mobility devices can be stored, that would be helpful.

If you have storage space for mobility devices for Crutches 4 Africa, please email District Interact Chair Art Harrington, art@harringtonfinancialservices.com.
