Hollie Green, Elizabeth Lowe and Jim Green invited Ms. Tiffany Molina, principal at Challenger School in Glendale to add her school to the Interact family at Rotary here in Sun City.  Jill Green’s high school Interact Club has been so wildly successful, with assistance from Mr. Bob Solis, that the chapter decided to sponsor a younger middle school group. Bob then volunteered to be the liaison Rotarian to join Challenger Interact faculty advisor Ms. Sarah Stevenson in the charter year of the middle school Interact club.

Interact students collect and pack food: St. Mary’s Food Bank.

Since the school year began, Challenger Interact has been involved in collecting 700 lbs of food and packing over 1400 boxes of food for St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix, visiting elderly at the Life Care Center in Glendale and most recently attending the annual Interact leadership conference at Arizona State University held this past Sunday, November 9th.  Challenger School had the most students attend from one school and had the distinction to be the youngest attendees and the only middle school represented from Arizona.

Next up for these young people is the annual Thanksgiving Feast at Challenger which serves 800 community members all the fixings for a family centered traditional celebration. Rotary members will be on hand to assist our students and have already contributed financially to the event with a generous donation of $1,500 toward the $4,000 total cost for the event.

Interact and Rotary have co-sponsored this year’s annual Challenger School Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, November 26th.
