The Peoria North Rotary Club is asking Rotarians who attend the district conference June 1-2 in Litchfield Park to bring along a clothing donation for the club’s major service project: The Prom Closet.

The club will have a table in the Hall of Friendship both days. Rotarians are invited to drop off clothing donations at the table.

Each year during early spring, the club hosts The Prom Closet over three weekends. High school teens from throughout Arizona are invited to the event and obtain formal prom attire at no charge.
This past April, the club served 280 high school students from 70 high schools.

Boys and girls are invited to choose from a variety of items. For girls, there are dresses, shoes and accessories. Boys can choose from suits, slacks, shirts, vests, ties and shoes.

The Peoria North Rotary Club this year was joined by Rotarians from several other Rotary clubs: Glendale West, Sun City, Sun City West, Peoria, Sun City Satellite, Surprise, Phoenix Rotary 100 and Phoenix Rotary 100’s Downtown Social Club.

The club welcomes donations of any kind, but we are in special need at the moment of men’s suits, slacks (waist size 28-34) and white dress shirts (15-17, sleeve size 32-34). Women’s dresses, too, are always welcome. Cash donations may be made to the Peoria Club Rotary Foundation and sent to P.O. Box 6330, Peoria Arizona 85385.
