Rotary’s youth and young adult programs include Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and Rotary Youth Exchange. Our district has about 45 Interact clubs and three Rotaract clubs now. Congratulations to those clubs qualified for this year’s Presidential citation.

District Conference:
The purpose of the district conference is to provide opportunities for networking, listen to inspirational speeches, and to have discussions of Rotary-related matters. We are lucky to have Past Rotary International President Richard King, who was the president from 2001 to 2002.  He had been 122 countries, speaking to Rotary clubs and districts. As President, he led Rotary International to its greatest one-year growth record in its 111-year history, with 75,000 new members net, a global membership of 1,243,431 and 1,158 New Rotary Clubs in 2001-2002, more than one new club every 8 hours. In the same year, Rotarians contributed the highest amount of funds ever raised for the Annual Fund of the Rotary Foundation.

Rotary Friendship Exchange:
This year we have six Rotarians coming from District 3040- India. They are scheduled to arrive on May 2 and will be attending our district conference in May. Our Tri districts in Arizona are the international sponsors with them for a global grant which is submitted and approved by RI.  Our district is planning to send our RFE team during January/February 2017.  Those who are interested to go may contact PDG Don Schiller who is the chair person of RFE out bound team.
