I am following the advice of Bonnie and Clyde, who once said, “Let’s get out of here before we get shot!” (Or, at least I’m sure they said something like that at one time.)

While the job has been challenging and rewarding, I have done all I can do in this task and am ready to move on. I’m sure whoever incoming District Governor Simmer chooses to replace me, will do an amazing job as District Newsletter Editor and far surpass what I have done over the last 5 years.

I first took a try at this job back in 1999, when my father was DG. It was fun, but very plain, limited to technology, and we only had one year to develop it. I moved on to many other club and district duties, until about 6 or 7 years ago, when PDG Lucinda General asked me to take the reins from her as the Editor, and I agreed. I’ve done my best and (let’s be honest here), tried to follow the 4 Way Test. But quite honestly, I did have my favorite contributors…those that made my job easy!

All that said, thank you to those who did help and those who gave me a pat on the back when I most needed it and wanted to scream. I am very grateful for the chance to serve and look forward to my next challenge.

One last thing…please don’t send me your articles anymore, because, I am out of here, before I get shot!
