While visiting Rotary and Rotaract Clubs these past three months, DG Chuck has noticed there is a bit of confusion within our district.  It has to do with Exchange, particularly Foreign Exchange or Youth Exchange.

If you Google the term “foreign exchange”  you will find that it can refer to currency exchange, trading dollars for Euro for example.  Rotary International has had a wonderful program for over 50 years, sending students to live and go to school in other countries.  It is called Rotary Youth Exchange.  That’s YOUTH Exchange, not FOREIGN Exchange.

Our District 5490 Youth Exchange Program is alive and well.  This year we sent 11 Outbound Students and received 14 Inbound Students.  We also have a new website for the Youth Exchange Program.  www.Rotary5490Youth.com.  It includes information for current and prospective exchange students, their natural parents, host families, counselors, local coordinators, ROTEX, and committee members.  If you know of anyone who is interested in knowing more about any part of our Rotary Youth Exchange Program, please refer them to our new and improved website.
