What is a PN and why is it important for them to attend PETS?

We have some new and exciting news about the 2015 Arizona Tri-District PETS!

In the past, we have always invited and encouraged club Presidents-Nominee[i] (PN) to attend to take part in the training, energy and great Rotary fellowship at PETS. Those PN’s who attended would take the same sessions as their Presidents-Elect[ii] (PE).

All that has changed because for PETS 2015 has NEW and SEPARATE training tracks for the Presidents-Elect and Presidents-Nominee. PE’s will have five sessions tailored to their role as Presidents-Elect. The Presidents-Nominee will now have both a unique curriculum to prepare them on a two year path to serving as President and the added benefit of learning and sharing with every PN from across our three districts. Both PEs and PNs will attend two Essential Sessions delving into various aspects of The Rotary Foundation, Public Image and social media awareness.

Arizona Tri-District PETS needs to reach all 131 clubs.  We are reaching out to you to help make the PETS experience the best ever and to provide for an effective and energetic leadership succession in your club.

  1. Does your club have its President Nominee identified, or have a process of succession that has a PN in it (even if they have a different title[iii]) That means your club is in line for success just by identifying them and having them attend  PETS  On March 6-7, 2015
  2. If you do not have a PN designated at this time, we need you to remember that the RI Standard Constitution requires clubs to elect certain officers no later than December 31 of each year.  One of those is the President-Nominee.  Thus, we ask that you hold your club’s election by December 31st and register your new PN to attend PETS in March 2015.

Because of the new separate training tracks, your PN and PE will receive specific information that will help them in their new roles as they progress through the succession process. We believe this will provide a continuity of leadership skills for your club’s officers year-after-year.

Help us help your club have the best trained leadership line possible.

[iii] For instance, some clubs elect their club secretary each year to be in the succession line for club president. Thus their current club secretary is the PN. Others may use a seniority system and know their club succession well in advance. Some smaller clubs may have a rotation process in place.
