What do you do with 80 American flags left over from an earlier service project? Prescott Sunup Rotary found a new purpose for them! Members recently gathered to assemble flags for donation to the American Legion, turning unused supplies into another opportunity to serve their community.

Sunupians Assemble Flags for American Legion Donation

Members of the Rotary Club of Prescott-Sunup recently participated in a hands-on project assembling American flags for donation to the American Legion.

The club had purchased approximately 80 flags several years ago as part of a joint community service project with the Boy Scouts. Although the project started strong, it eventually came to an end, leaving the flags in the club's storage unit.

After talking with the American Legion, the club's Community Service Committee learned that the organization would welcome a donation of the flags. So, a recent Wednesday meeting became a flag assembly day!

Members worked together to prepare the flags for donation, putting supplies from an earlier project to good use.

Special recognition goes to Dr. Gus Bergman, who excelled as the club's "Chief Sticker Man," carefully placing a Prescott-Sunup Rotary sticker on each flagpole to identify the source of the donation.

A simple project, a little teamwork, and a new purpose for 80 American flags!
