Rotary Done in a Day Project Supports Foster Children

Phoenix West Rotary organizes monthly community service projects called Done in a Day, during which they do something good for the community and get it done in a day!  This July, their Done in a Day project will be a back-to-school donation drive for foster children.  Club members will secure back to school supplies from friends and family, personally purchase items to donate or both and then bring their donations to a regular Rotary lunch meeting in July.   All of the back to school supplies will be given to the John Jay & Rich Care for Kids Foundation.  The John Jay and Rich Care for Kids Foundation’s mission is to assist and serve children in need by creating uplifting experiences for children and families facing difficult life challenges.  Their goal is to help educate Arizonans about the 17,000 kids in Arizona who are in the foster care system as well as fulfill these kids’ needs. 

 

John Jay & Rich host a morning show on 104.7 KISS FM which is nationally syndicated.  They have helped thousands of children and families in need for nearly 15 years by providing food, clothing, toys, basic needs and experiences primarily during the holiday season through their Christmas Wish Program. In 2007, they formed their 501 c 3 non-profit organization, the John Jay & Rich Care for Kids Foundation, and have most recently placed an emphasis on helping the nearly 400,000 kids living in the Foster Care System in The United States.

 

Phoenix West Rotary is asking you to join their effort.  Phoenix West member, Staci Glass, is a new board member of the Care for Kids Foundation and she is hoping Rotary will step up this summer!  To conduct your own Done in a Day project is simple and truly makes an impact.  Staci will help develop a flyer you can give to your club members and she will coordinate pick up your donations.  It couldn’t be any easier!
