Braving the hottest day yet of Sedona's summer, a group of Red Rocks Rotarians visited Sunset Park to see the new Splash Pad that recently received a $3,400 contribution from the club. Even with temps over 100 degrees, there were many families with kids enjoying the water feature. The picnic lunch was put together for about $3.00 per person. The $250.00 difference between that and the cost of the normal weekly meal was donated to the next stop on the day's outing - the Humane Society of Sedona. There members enjoyed a tour of the city's animal shelter. It was also announced at the gathering that the club’s donation of 50 back packs filled with school supplies valued at almost $1,000.00 had been delivered to the Sedona Oak Creek School District Administrative offices. The district will distribute the back packs to those students most in need at both Big Park Elementary and West Sedona schools.
