Tragedy in Nepal

Coordination of relief efforts from D5490 clubs is being led by Dr. Marek Woskinski (Phoenix Rotary 100).
What follows is an initial note from Marek, that includes all of his contact information. Since this note, much more death and destruction has been seen, and Marek has received this report from the Rotary District in Nepal. Dear Chuck,
I am sure you heard about the earthquake in Nepal. I came back from Kathmandu just few days before this disaster. It is heart breaking experience to see the photos and videos from all these places I visited that are devastated now The death toll 1500 is really hard to comprehend. It is almost a paradox that a week ago we had discussion with the Nepali government on plans of changing Kathmandu into a smart city.

We have had a close collaboration with Rotary Clubs in Kathmandu, as well as with numerous Interact Clubs in this city. Do you think that it would be possible to askclubs from our district to donate some money to Rotary Clubs in Kathmandu that would allow them to give assistance to their members and members of Interact Clubs affected by this disaster? I am sure any kind of help would be greatly appreciated. We could also use the opportunity of our District Conference to raise some money. If you agree with the idea, I can provide relevant contacts.
