Thanks to Rotary, a popular Fountain Hills holiday tradition since 2005 will continue this year.

When model train enthusiast and collector Ken Burling decided to retire from staging his increasingly popular train display, the Four Peaks and Fountain Hills Rotary clubs offered to set-up and sponsor the month-long activity. Ken will remain in an advisory role and will make frequent visits to the event. Throughout this past year the clubs have met with Ken to discuss the transition and plan for the December 1 grand opening. Just last week a meeting was held at the Community Center to finalize dates and times.

The train display features model trains in a holiday setting chugging around a large track set amongst a miniature town. The event is particularly popular with children but according to Ken, “Even the old folks get a real kick out of model trains. It always surprises me how popular the event is each year.”
